I like water.

I’m broadly indifferent to water, at least when my appreciation of its having made life on Earth, and my continued existence, possible is taken out of the equation.

Nope, sadly. I’ve got some metal bottles, but they’re of a different design(and a couple came to me open):

1. TNG (Best television series ever, so far as I’m concerned.)

2. DS9 (Not exactly what I’m looking for out of Star Trek, but a fantastic series nonetheless. I go back and forth on whether B5 was better, though.)

3. Voyager (Possibly the most inconsistent series I’ve ever watched. It had some absolutely fantastic episodes, but the inconsistent characterisation and wobbly continuity killed it for me.)

(By the way, the only real reason those JJTrek posters are up is because it’s bloody hard to find good TNG posters. I’ve been meaning to replace them for ages now, as while I respect JJ’s films as great sci-fi action adventures - seriously, if Trek 2009 hadn’t been a Star Trek film, I’d probably absolutely love it - I think they’re piss poor Star Trek.)

UK, and I’ve genuinely never seen one before. I may have to order one of each variety from the US.

Bah, everyone has posters for stuff they think is meh because cool posters are cool. Nobody has detailed models of the Enterprise A through E (baring C) if they don’t have an interest in Star Trek (Thanks Star Trek Online).

Also my order.

DS9: Actions have consequences. Space Battles are awesome. Doppelgänger espionage. May lack a trek but so much Sci-Fi. Prefer slightly to B5 due to lesser use of space magic.

TNG: Picard is the best captain.

Voyager: This week in how we are hypocrites and will just run away when things get hard.

Goddamnit do I want a C... And a Defiant... And a non-refit Excelsior... And yes, even a Voyager—the Intrepid-class design is actually one of my favourite bits of that series. Technically, I also need an actual A model, as the one there is actually just the refit original series 1701 from the first three films, with no letter at all. Of course, that model would be completely identical to the one I’ve got, barring that extra letter, so I’m in no rush.

I’ve got the NX-01, too—it’s behind the B in that picture. Oh, and the JJprise hides in shame behind my monitor:

You ever played Star Trek Online? Seems like it would be right up your street, considering I have over 100 hours in it, it was definitely up mine so much I bought a ship with real money since the allure of splitting in to three ships was to much for me.

My favourite part of Voyager.

The Prometheus was incredibly cool. I spent some time with STO, but only enough to unlock the second class of ship—I’m just not good at sticking with MMOs. It’s weird, because I love singleplayer RPGs... Man, I would freak the fuck out if a decent developer announced that they were working on a singleplayer Star Trek RPG set in the TNG-era. That’s my true dream game, right there.

As for STO, from what I remember, I quite liked the space combat, but found the ground stuff fairly tedious.

Unsurprisingly it’s a lot better with others.

That was how I was sold on Mass Effect which turned out not to be true but Mass Effect was great anyway so I can’t be too mad. That Mass Effect 4 leak sounds very promising though.

Yup, Ship combat is amazing at the higher levels as for the ground stuff it gets better as later missions get more Diplomatic and less shoot everything and move on, you know like Star Trek.

Kinja'd!!!1

This is unsurprising indeed—it probably didn’t help that I’ve only got, like, one friend who actually likes Star Trek. The rest’ll go in for all kinds of other nerdy stuff, but draw the line there.

Yeah, Mass Effect was fantastic - okay, I didn’t like 3, even without all that ending crap, but it still ranks among my very top gaming franchises - and it looks like 4’s actually going to be fairly Star Trek-y, in its way. From what’s been shown, there’s a lot of emphasis on, well, exploring strange new worlds. I’m really hoping we get some serious movement on Mass Effect 4 this E3—it feels like the right time.

I do really like the sound of the ground missions dumping most of the shooty stuff for some actual Star Trek talking/science-ing.

I have a 20oz plastic contour bottle that was sealed empty when they introduced them. They sent me one in the mail for some reason and I still have it. I like to think it would be worth a millionn dollars by now.

Series 4 is more-or-less all good, but series 1 was kind of dull, and the whole Xindi war thing was just a bit eh. It’s a real shame it got cancelled when it did.

I wish I still had the stand for my NX-01 model, but it actually looks pretty alright just standing on its nacelles at the back of the shelf with the B and refit/A.

I haven’t watched em all but working my way through. There are a lot of really great episodes in my opinion. I really liked the carbon creek episode with the vulcans first contact with humans.

When I was a teenager I always loathed when star trek came on tv but now I am really getting into it.

Nope, cheap Zalman mechanical that I got for a steal. I’m thinking of upgrading to something a little fancier, but it’s certainly a lot better than my old membrane Logitech.

I just had a quick poke around Corsair’s site, and the Zalman doesn’t actually look that similar to me. It’s just a super generic looking mechanical keyboard.

I just saw the front angle, and the Venegance or whatever has a slightly similar front profile. Does it have real Chery MX switches?

Nope! It just uses generic switches. They feel better than any non-mechanical by some ways, but I have typed on Cherry Reds before, and they were certainly better.

True, true. Just saying, for $80.00 you probably could get a keyboard with real Chery MX switches, haha.

Check out Massdrop. They’ve got some good stuff.

Oh, yeah—I just had a quick look, and managed to find one for £50/$76 on Amazon. I’m sure I could probably go a little cheaper with a less cursory search.

Of course, I only paid a tenner for the Zalman - like I said, a steal - so I’m fairly happy with it for now. :-)

I loved Enterprise, although I didn’t discover it till it was well off the air. I thought the stories were fantastic. I wish the series would have kept going, but it made sense the way they wrapped it up in the final episode. Oh, and Tepal was smoking hot too
